This is it.

Today was the day you were going to finally tie yourself to Sasuke, figuratively, for the rest of yours, and his life.

When you first met Sasuke you were just a lowly defector of Iwagakure. You barely knew where you were, where your parents were, who you were supposed to be, where you were supposed to go… The questions you had at that time were endless.

Then you stumbled upon Sasuke. Or more so, he and his team stumbled upon your sleeping body. Simply put, Suigetsu thought you were pretty and refused leave you be since he could tell it had been a day or two since you had a proper meal.

Juugo and Sasuke were hesitant but Karin didn’t care since Sasuke seemed to not be phased by you like Suigetsu was.

You ended up getting to know Sasuke. You didn’t know if you could trust him but you ended up telling him everything that you had to you. You told him where you were born, that you excelled in Genjutsu over anything, that your parents fled Iwagakure separate from you due to debt collectors following them and they didn’t want you caught up in it. You even told him useless facts about yourself that no one would care to know, but he listened to you, and at that point in time, that’s all you wanted, was someone to listen to you.

Slowly you found yourself falling into some deep, complicated feelings for him. Sasuke had his own problems and his own things to deal with so you never bothered him with romantic things. When they happened they happened but you never tried to do anything unexpected. Your biggest fear was that you would get in the way of his missions.

Sasuke’s proposal to you was rather unexpected and done in a manner that perfectly explained him. Hell, it wasn’t even a proper proposal.

Closer and closer came the day that marked two years that you had been traveling and following Sasuke. You hadn’t been keeping up with the time but you knew it had been a long and very rigorous couple of years.

You and Sasuke walked side by side beneath the pale moonlight. It was enough to illuminate everything that you needed to see, including each other, but not quite enough to provide enough comfortable light.

In the two years that you spent with him, your relationship became more and more romantic as the days passed. It took no time for it to progress that way, but it was a very slow paced relationship. You didn’t complain, you were just happy to be able to call him some sort of yours.

You could fondly look back on the times you spent with him. The nights when you two would stay up talking because neither of you wanted to be without the other. The small and sometimes rare kisses you shared. The times when you’d bandage him or stitch him back up. Even the small disagreements that would arise because he was worried about your safety, you never got too mad though because it was one of the few ways he showed he cared. Every single moment you spent with him in those years were a fond ones.

“(Y/N), let’s get married in the spring time.” Sasuke never fell out of step but you stopped walking, nearly choking on air itself.

Did you hear that correctly? Did Sasuke really want to get married to you? The question was so sudden and you two had never even spoken of the topic. You weren’t even sure if he wanted to get married to begin with.

“I’ve been thinking of going back to Konoha to take my life up there when fall is over. We can get married when the spring time comes around.” Sasuke continued, obviously having no worries that you’d reject him. Was it even a proposal or was he already planning it to happen?

You finally caught back up to him and he glanced to you, clearly awaiting your approval instead of your acceptance.

“Yeah… The spring time sounds nice…” You pressed your lips inward and your face began to heat up. The full idea hadn’t fully sunk in yet because of the bizarre way it was brought about, but you already could begin to feel the butterflies begin to flutter within your stomach just thinking about finally being able to call Sasuke your husband.

“Are you sure though? Are you sure you want to get married to me?” You were honestly ecstatic that he had plans for you in his future, but you were also concerned that because you were one of the few options he had, he felt obliged to choose you.

“When have I ever not known what I wanted?” Sasuke asked you casually, his hand finding your own so he could hold it tightly. He continued to lead you along the path, landing a gentle but lingering kiss on your temple and then finally one on the corner of your lips.

You had to admit, he had a very good point that you weren’t going to argue. You never thought that you would marry the man of your dreams, but here he was, proposing to you.

When Sasuke brought you back to Konoha, you only had the winter to acquaint yourself Sasuke’s old friends and Konoha alike.

Everyone doted on you as soon as you stepped foot through the gate with Sasuke. They were excited to have him back as well as a new friend.

Now you were surrounded with your new friends, the female ones at least. Since you had no family in Konoha, Sakura and Tenten were taking the pleasure of preparing your makeup and hair for your big day. Ino was arranging the flowers at the venue, Hinata was wrangling up all of the guests and finally Temari was helping you with your traditional dress.

“Are you ready?” Hinata poked her head in. She looked very beautiful, as did the rest of your friends. You felt a hot stinging at your eyes and before you knew it tears were already flowing. Tenten gasped and began to try and dab them up before your make up would begin to streak.

“(Y/N)!” Hinata rushed over, making sure the door was closed behind you before you had to go and meet Sasuke so you could go to the venue. Her hands placed themselves on your shoulders. “Why are you crying?”

“I’m just so thankful and happy… For all of you guys, taking me in when I came from nothing. You really didn’t have to do this for me.” You managed a small smile and then a laugh, causing the other three girls to laugh as well.

“We grew up with Sasuke and we care a lot about him. We can see how happy you make him so of course, we’re going to take you in and treat you like one of our own. It was about time he brought home a girl anyways!” Sakura gave your shoulder a little nudge after her small pep talk was over.

“Let’s get the beautiful bride to her groom then, he’s waiting on her.”
